Andean pink opal is one of the softest and most poetic stones of the mineral kingdom. Its color — that powdery pink, that soft peach pink, that pale coral pink that seems to have been laid down by a dawn light — has an almost unreal gentleness. Opaque or slightly translucent depending on the specimen, sometimes crossed by white veins or lighter clouds drifting through its mass, it carries within it a quality of silence and softness that few stones possess. Andean pink opal is a common opal — a hydrated form of silicon dioxide, SiO₂·nH₂O — without the iridescent play of colors of precious opal, but with its own chromatic quality of rare delicacy. It forms in Andean volcanic rocks by deposition of silica in solution within cavities and fissures — a slow, low-temperature process, in the cold and humid heights of the Andes mountain range in Peru. It is this high-altitude volcanic origin that gives it its characteristic pink hue, colored by traces of manganese and iron oxide. Each JUMBO piece is a fragment of solidified Andean sky, a pink softness born in the heights of the world.

Emotional and spiritual virtues It is associated with healing of the heart, gentleness toward oneself, and reconnection to simple joy. It is said to accompany those who carry old wounds related to love — not to erase or deny them, but to envelop them in a new softness, to create around them a space of kindness and tenderness. Its gentle and soothing vibration is said to invite the release of emotional armor built for protection, to allow oneself to be touched again without fearing being hurt. It helps to rediscover lightness, that ability to welcome what is beautiful without immediately expecting it to disappear. On a spiritual level, Andean pink opal is often described as a stone of rediscovered childhood — not naivety, but that natural openness to the world, that ability to marvel without needing to understand everything first.

Legend In pre-Incan Andean traditions, pink stones were associated with Pachamama — Mother Earth — in her most nurturing and loving dimension. Quechua shamans used pale pink stones in their heart-healing ceremonies, seeing in their hue the color of love that returns after injury. Opal itself has a millennia-old history — the Romans considered it the most precious of all stones, carrying within it all the colors of other gems. The indigenous peoples of the Andes saw in stones born from high-altitude volcanoes direct gifts from the Apus — the spirits of the sacred mountains — stones charged with the memory of the summits and the purity of the high-altitude air. A stone born where the earth touches the sky, for those who need to remember that their heart deserves to be cared for.

JUMBO orders require time for crafting, ranging from 2 to 3 weeks during the busiest periods.

The photo is not contractual — each stone is unique and its imperfections are the testimony of a natural stone.
